Auditions of new members will be held during rehearsals the next couple of weeks. If you have friends or colleagues who might be interested in joining us, please encourage them. Auditions are informal and stress-free (remember?). See Arlene to audition.

Registration: If you have not already registered, please see Vivian.

JANUARY 29 REHEARSAL LOCATION CHANGE (2 weeks from today)
We will NOT be at Grace North Church. They have another event already planned here for that night. We will be meeting at: 2717 Hillegass Ave. in Berkeley, instead. MAP
Note that this is a private residence.

Carpooling: Since parking is limited here, we would like to encourage people to carpool. Please check the sign-up sheets to see who lives in your area and might be able to share rides with you.

The Board of Directors is constantly striving to make this chorus fun, engaging, musically challenging and successful. Your input, suggestions and encouragement are VERY welcome and most needed. Please speak to any one of us at any time with your (chorus related) hopes and concerns. If you can't get our attention during rehearsal, you can get the email address of any board member by attaching "@bellamusica.org" to our first names. A chorus roster will be available in the coming weeks with all of our contact info.

Meet the composers: Claude Le Jeune (c.1528 - 1600)
Le Jeune mixed in French humanist circles, participating in the Académie de Poésie et de Musique, a circle of poets and musicians dedicated to reviving the ideals of classical sung verse. He was the principal composer to experiment with "musique mesurée", of which the piece we are performing, "Revecy Venir du Printans" is a beautiful example. In "musique mesurée, the rhythm of the music is derived from the verse to which it was written.*

Upcoming Concerts: Matthew will be performing at Old First Friday, January 18th at 8 p.m. at Old First Church in San Francisco. 1751 Sacramento St. at Van Ness. $12 General/ $9 seniors and students. There is reduced price validated parking at Old First Garage, Sacramento and Polk. Call 415-474-1608 for further information. Program includes Brahms, Ravel, and Julian White.

Let us know if there are items you would like to see in "Nota Bene Bella".
