1. We need a volunteer to call past (regular) program advertisers to remind them that they want to renew their ads. If you have ads, or can help with this important task, please see Cristin.
2. We need everyone to take flyers to distribute. We are a small group & we really rely on all of you to bring in friends, family, neighbors, fellow students, advisors, co-workers, as well as people who shop in your neighborhood to these concerts. We need flyers at local stores, restaurants, libraries, places of worship etc. We are at a slight disadvantage in that our concerts are ALL THE WAY in Oakland & our audience base is in Berkeley. Please sign up to take flyers to businesses which might be willing to post our flyers. There is a sign-up sheet in the back.
3. Please sell tickets to friends, family, etc. You can sign-out tickets & sell them & bring us money, or bring back the unsold tickets. Remind people this is the centenary of Durufle's birth -- what an occasion to get to know this composer!
4. I checked with Arlene re: pronunciation of "Jesu" in Britten. She reaffirmed the "yea-zoo" variant (not gee-zoo) despite what she said last week.
5. New-to-Bella? There is a sheet describing concert dress etc. Check the back table. Remember, you will need to either cover your score in black (construction paper can do wonders) or put it in a binder. Also-- start thinking NOW about how often you are going to be looking Our sound improves thousand-fold when we look up!
6. Jim reminds us to make mistakes with gusto! -- now is the time to get all of your mistakes out. Get them out now, so they'll be gone by performance time. If you think you can, gently tell your neighbor if you hear him/her consistantly making the same mistake. Focus on 'being there' for your entrances.
7. The orchestra will be here NEXT WEEK! We will need extra help doing set-up before rehearsal. Please arrive early if possible. Please practice between now & then... hum the processional was you walk around at work, belt the Durufle 'Sanctus' as you commute (except for BART commuters ...unless you need space on the train).
